Welcome to the Gharial Information Database.

This database is our attempt at collating available literature on the gharial (Gavialis gangeticus), and making it readily accessible. It was developed to facilitate the work of conservationists, students, researchers, field staff, resource managers and anybody interested in gharials. We believe and also hope that open access to such information will trigger participatory biodiversity monitoring initiatives, and in the process, spur public support and participation in gharial conservation. We hope you will find this database useful !
